Some beginnings are loud. Mine was quiet like spring. During my master’s at Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, I discovered the joy of rigorous thought and the quiet power of questions. Later, during my doctoral years at Jawaharlal Nehru University, I immersed myself in research and dialogue but also in listening. I listened to students navigating uncertainty, parents seeking clarity, and young minds longing for meaningful guidance.

Over the years, as a university professor, I mentored students from varied backgrounds — each carrying dreams too large for the systems they were in. I saw them try, falter, and try again often without the kind of mentorship that could help them rise with confidence and direction. What troubled me most was how the global education space became noisier filled with promises, rankings, and pressure  but often devoid of care.
