Hello, I am Fionaa Thawani

In life, as a student and scholar, one gets to write a fine number of research papers, especially during one’s time in college. So, the experience of the first research paper of our lives, especially if it is during school, is likely to fade away from one’s mind. However, my research paper with Dr Sejal Yadav was an extraordinary experience and has become a core memory.

Dr. Sejal’s approach and attitude were extraordinary. She guided me regarding the important works of political theorists, even if they were not part of the paper, just to develop my knowledge. Dr. Sejal, through the course of the paper, instilled in me a very to-the-point understanding of concepts. Her attention to detail is, crucially, what made my paper as strong as it was. Dr. Sejal maintains a balance of independence and supervision in her mentorship so that there is neither a lack of guidance nor any spoon-feeding. Her feedback is also a nuanced combination of appreciation and criticism. To my paper, Dr. Sejal had a commitment and dedication so surreal and infinite that it is far from quantifiable. Her bubbly and charming persona is an inspiration I shall carry with me throughout my lifetime. 

In conclusion, Dr. Sejal is the perfect mentor any student researcher could ask for. I am genuinely grateful that I had you as my research mentor.
